UN wants to know details of the elimination of bin Laden

The UN High Commissioner also said that the leader of al-Qaeda killed 79 men by the special forces had taken full responsibility for its other products, including killings that may be classified as crimes against humanity.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, following closely the details of the U.S. operation in which Osama bin Laden was dead, said the organization.
"I note that the United States clearly indicated that if they could, their intention was to arrest Bin Laden (and) fully understand that this would have been difficult, "said the High Commissioner.
"It was a complex operation, but it would be useful to know the exact details surrounding the death," he stressed, adding that the anti-terrorist operations must comply with international law.
