In the book, which will be released next Thursday (12), when it commemorates anniversary of 7 years girl, Kate McCann renewed their criticism of the way the Portuguese police conducted the investigation.
Madeleine disappeared on May 3, 2007, three years old. She slept in a bedroom of the resort of Praia da Luz, a small Portuguese resort where her parents vacationed.
After 14 months of a controversial research, the Portuguese justice decided to dismiss the case. The McCanns always insisted on the theory that the girl had been kidnapped, but Madeleine has never been found.
In his book, "Madeleine", written following the notes of his personal diary, Kate McCann, 43, said he feared that his daughter had once been the victim of a pedophile.
In excerpts published in the British press, the mother of the girl describes having "macabre visions" about the disappearance of her daughter. Kate also tells of "a wave of panic that washed over her to see her daughter's bed empty:
- The demonstration was horrible I suffered a macabre parade of visions in my head torturing me endlessly. The images he saw Madeleine's no sane person would take it into his head. When I saw that was not in his bed, I rushed to our room to see if it was in ours.
Book sales will be earmarked for a fund with which the girl's parents continue to pay services of private detectives dedicated to finding the child.
The former inspector responsible for the Portuguese investigation also published a book claiming that the girl was dead and that his parents could have hidden the corpse. The book was withdrawn from sale after a lawsuit filed by the McCanns.
